Port Lincoln - Cummings Monument Lookout - Locks Well - Elliston
Today begin our discovery of the west coast of the Eyre Peninsular. Port Lincoln to Elliston is a long drive with no towns in between. Only twice does the road come close to the coast. The first is at a site call the Cummings Memorial. This is memorial to Leo Cummings who was lost at sea from a fishing trawler 1959 off the coast nearby...

A few kilometres further along is a restored old building called the "Lake Hamilton Eating House" a roadhouse/cafe from travellers built in 1857.

Locks Well is another coastal lookout not far south of Elliston. The coast line has changed dramatically from the last lookout.

Today is going to be an absolute scorcher. We pull up stumps early and head to Port Kenny to park up. By mid afternoon the temperature is in the mid 40s
Thankfully we have learnt how to manage the tempature inside is the van to keep it bearable…

The caravan park is new. We have a great site right on the beach. While the day is cool the sky is overcast. There is a cliff top drive we want to do with spectacular scenery but we decide to leave it until tomorrow morning to see if we get better light…

Day 43 - 18th March
Ceduna - Penong - Ceduna
Ceduna is a service town. It is on the main transport link from the east to west coast both road and rail. The place is full of travellers and semi-trailers...
Our first stop today is at the Bridgestone Tyres to replace the motorhomes front tyres. After just 22,000km they are worn out...
With new tyres fitted we are headed west to Penong from there toward Point Sinclair to photograph a pink lake and more sand dunes.

Back to Ceduna for lunch at Bill's Pizzas
A family size pizza with a massive amount of toppings that cost $36, but was so big it made three meals for the two of us. And it was great fresh and reheated. Bill’s Pizza is on the “never to be past” list ..
